Did you know productivity declines 50% during the week between Christmas and New Years and it doesn't return to normal until the THIRD Tuesday after New Years?
It seems natural to wind things down at the end of the calendar year. School goes on a break, winter goes on a break (just kidding, winter never ends) and our campaign officially ends on December 31st, as well (hint, hint, get your donations in before then to reap those Alberta Tax Advantages).
And while this has been an absolutely exhausting and rewarding campaign, this little website has done quite a lot of new things for us and you've helped us a ton along the way. In the last four months we've:
- Launched a website
- Named a mascot
- Tried our hand at a flashmob
- Livestreamed and live tweeted during our Kickoff event
- Written nearly 100 blogs
- Created nearly 40 videos
- Started a Facebook Fan Page and a Twitter Account
- Sent out a Daily Day of Caring almost every day
- Uploaded nearly 1,000 pictures
That's quite a bit and we definitely could not have done it without such an active community participating in discussions, putting on some of the best workplace campaign events I've ever seen and just getting involved in the work of building a better community.
And to think that was only four months. 2011 is going to be something completely different. We've got plans to make this website a place you want to check out all year round, not just during our campaign. So feel free to take some time to unwind, enjoy time with family and friends, we all need it. But don't forget to check us out sometime around that third Tuesday after New Years. We're going to have a lot of fun next year.
We won't be posting for a couple weeks as we implement a new blogging schedule and a few new ideas so until then, have a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year!
