'Change Starts Here' original song AND remix both available for free download

United Way of the Alberta Capital Region turned many heads in 2011 with their upbeat rap and r&b branded music video, Change Starts Here. The song, heard by thousands of community members since its release September 2011, received an Edmonton Music Award nomination for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year.  And now, in addition to the original song, we are able to share this high quality re-mix version as a free download via bandcamp.

Change Starts Here tells the story of a man who, with help of United Way, is able to regain control over his life and help himself and his son escape the cycle of poverty. It is a song that weaves the emotional testimonials of Pamela Spurvey and Lincoln Nanaquawetung with catchy hooks.

The re-mixed song is performed by the same local artists who created the original, however the song was re-written and re-worked as a thank you to the community for being amazing. The special live performance at United Way's Red Tie Gala was quite the spectacle, complete with backup dancers from Dance Alberta.

I hope you enjoy listening to these songs, but more so, I hope they inspire you to continually be a part of the change, because it really does start with you.
