National Volunteer Week

Thanks to generous supporters, United Way is able to provide funding to over 50 agencies in the Alberta Capital Region.  These agencies provide critical services to people in need of educational, wellness and financial support to move beyond daily struggles of poverty. Dedicated and caring staff manage the daily operations of the agencies, however, there are times when the need for help exceeds the resources available and volunteers are a much needed support.

There is no value we can place on the work of the amazing volunteers who help lift people out of poverty. We appreciate and thank you for packing backpacks for Tools for School, building Homeless Connect care kits, sorting food and preparing hampers at local food banks, building recreation areas for youth and children, cooking and serving food for families and seniors, team leading in UDodge, and so many other jobs you take on.  Your time and effort is priceless.

It’s heartwarming to see a community so loyal to helping each other and for National Volunteer Week (April 12 – 18) we want to recognize, celebrate and thank you for all you do and for your ongoing commitment to your community.
