As part of our energetic Resource Development team, you would be reporting to our fun and collaborative Vice President, Development and Donor Relations. You will make a difference by managing the development, implementation, measurement and reporting of business development strategies across multiple departments. You will provide leadership to external volunteer teams and internal teams to support and grow new, undeveloped, or underdeveloped business opportunities. This will involve identifying, researching, approaching and acquiring supporters, including corporate accounts, sponsors and investment partners. Basically, this is about building meaningful relationships with people.
It’s important to us that you will have previous sales/marketing experience, and research and project management skills. You have a knowledge of business development strategies in acquiring and developing new business, and a proven ability to build relationships including influencing, educating and guiding conversations and decisions. You have strong presentation skills, can work with and analyze numbers and are able to lead people and senior volunteers. You are really good with MS Office (we use Office 365) and have CRM systems experience (we use a database called Andar). You will have fantastic writing and speaking skills being that this position involves so much communicating. Your background includes a degree or diploma in a related area plus five years in a similar position. If you have other equivalent experience, we will also consider that. Knowledge of community investment and corporate social responsibility is an asset. A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required as travel is involved within Edmonton and surrounding area. With the type of work this is, ideally you’d have flexibility to work some evenings and weekends depending on the events and meetings that are going on.
