211 Alberta Coordinator

211 Alberta is an information and referral phone and chat line that connects individuals and families to local community and social services.  211 Alberta is a funded partner of United Way of the Alberta Capital Region.

Working with the 211 Alberta Steering Committee and reporting to the 211 Alberta Manager, you will provide senior administrative support and facilitate information sharing to internal and external stakeholders.   

Responsibilities include:

Coordination and Support

  • Provide 211 Manager and 211 Steering Committee with senior administrative support by developing agendas, coordinating various meetings and events, preparing, maintaining and sharing minutes, records, materials and resources 

  • Track and share plan progress including implementation activities, strategy alignment, initiative commonalities and linkages to resources

  • Facilitate key internal and external stakeholder information sharing by developing, implementing and maintaining systems to communicate strategies, progress and reports

Quality Assurance

  • Coordinate the collection of relevant data within required reporting timelines

  • Maintain 211 virtual workspace (e.g. SharePoint)

  • Assist 211 Manager in the production of reports

  • Work with Evaluator to ensure relevant data is captured in accordance to the evaluation plan

  • Identify risk management issues and ensure 211 Manager is informed 

Communications and Marketing

  • Maintenance of 211 website

  • Updating communication materials

  • Dissemination of materials to partners

  • Management of 211 social media activities including aligning with national marketing efforts regarding 211 Day

Qualifications include:

  • Requires a diploma or bachelor degree in a related area plus a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Experience includes working with collaborations, project administration and website maintenance

  • MS Office proficiency and knowledge of SharePoint an asset

  • Working knowledge of web based, online and social media applications 

  • Knowledge of information and referral services is considered and asset.

This is a temporary full-time position funded by a government of Alberta grant till March 31, 2020 with a good possibility of extension.   We offer competitive compensation and a benefits package.  This position works out of the United Way office at 15132 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, AB.
