We are looking for a philanthropic focused individual to support United Way workplace campaigns and initiatives to raise funds. This is important work in contributing to addressing and reducing poverty within Edmonton and area.
You are a strong relationship builder with solid project and database experience. In this role you will inspire and support workplace representatives and volunteers in fundraising activities in our Initiative Development Sector.
You enjoy collaborating with people, generating creative ideas, are a strategic thinker, and innovative; you also enjoy analyzing data and creating reports to maximize strategy planning.
Reporting to the Account Manager, you will work in partnership with a diverse group of workplace volunteers, donors, corporate partners and other not for profits to support and report on fundraising campaigns including - collecting, recording, administering and reporting on progress and revenue generated. You will also support resource development projects and assist workplace representatives with fundraising activities, including presenting information about United Way of the Alberta Capital Region and participating in special events. In addition, you may also provide support and leadership to a team member during our campaign period (September- December).
Qualifications include a 2-year administration or business diploma or 3 years’ experience or education in business, public services or human services sector. Having an interest in marketing and communications is highly encouraged. You are energetic, flexible, organized, and open to public speaking and enjoy working with people.
Relationship development, project and database experience, intermediate MS Office, ability to work with and analyze numbers, and strong communication skills are required. A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required as travel is involved in Edmonton and surrounding areas. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds is also necessary to transport campaign and related event materials throughout Edmonton. Working with volunteers, knowledge of fundraising and corporate social responsibility is an asset.
This is a full-time temporary position until March 2020 with possibility of extension.
