Retail and Warehouse Assistant Summer Student

The Warehouse Assistant will assist with operational activities at United Way’s InKind Exchange (located at 14710-112 Avenue, Edmonton).


You will provide assistance in the warehouse by receiving inventory and transferring product within the warehouse and retail store.  This will include physical inventory counts, re-stocking and entering data.  You will provide product selection assistance to customers and operate point of sale equipment. You will also perform basic technology refurbishment testing (for computer re-sale), and basic facility maintenance and cleaning as required. 


Qualifications include good customer service and a professional and personable manner when dealing with the public.  The successful candidate must be safety conscious, have the ability to operate a hand pallet jack, and be able to undertake physical work that includes lifting heavy objects up to 40 lbs.  You have an interest in computer refurbishment, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, English proficiency and good written and verbal communication skills.  Previous warehouse experience is preferred.  Safety footwear is required.


This position is funded through the Summer Temporary Employment Program (STEP).  Applicant requirements also include:

·       Registered as a full-time student during the academic year and returning to school on a full time basis the fall.

·       Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person protected under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and legally entitled to work in Canada
