Help fuel a brighter future for teen parents by joining ReUnited at Braemar School!
For many young parents, putting food on the table can mean making difficult choices. Some teen parents at Braemar School even skip meals so their children can eat.
You can help make a difference.
Join United Way’s ReUnited network for a hands-on volunteer experience supporting Terra Centre’s lunch program at Braemar School. Braemar is a specialized Edmonton Public School that helps pregnant and parenting students complete high school and plan for their futures. Located within the school, Terra’s Child and Family Support Centre provides early learning and care for students’ infants and toddlers while their parents attend classes. Terra also runs the school’s lunch program to help address food insecurity among young parents.
Working together in the school’s kitchen, volunteers will prepare lunch for 35–40 students, helping make a nourishing meal available during their school day.
You’ll also have the opportunity to tour the facilities and learn more about the work happening at Braemar School and Terra Centre’s Child and Family Support Centre. See how Braemar supports pregnant and parenting students as they work toward graduation, and how Terra provides early learning and care for their children while they attend classes.
Bring your time, teamwork, and willingness to help. Groups are also encouraged to purchase groceries for the meal, giving you another way to contribute.
Together, we can help young parents focus on their education, their families, and what comes next.
