Nutritional Supports

"I just have to say how grateful I am for the support that we have from All in for Youth and for having those wraparound services in the building. Now, more than ever, we see how crucial they are." - School administrator

After hearing Mary’s story, you catch up with your tour group as it is entering the cafeteria where nutritional support workers are preparing lunches for students. Ben explains that each student in the school will have access to a free lunch, thanks to e4c. By providing lunch to all students, it removes any stigma for those students who may not have food at home to bring to school. Making all those lunches seem to be a lot of work to you. All the workers seem so busy, you do not approach any of them. Ben, who has been waiting for this opportunity, smiles and asks you to test your knowledge about All in for Youth by taking a quiz.

Nutritional Supports

Children who lack food stability or are hungry at school are more likely to experience headaches, stomach aches, academic difficulties, and social challenges. As a result of this, they may have lower grades and greater behaviour challenges.

As an essential component of All in for Youth, e4c provides healthy, nutritious lunches and snacks to socially vulnerable students. The lunches and snacks are universally available at no cost to students, ensuring those who come to school without a lunch or snack are not stigmatized by the lack of family resources.

Did You Know? 70% of the All in for Youth school populations, on average, were accessing the e4c school nutrition program from September 2020 to March 2020 with 1,130 students fed per month.
