Our vision is for every girl in our city to complete high school with pride in themselves, their community and their culture – paving the way for post-secondary and career opportunities, allowing them to reach their full potential and live healthy and fulfilling lives.

Connect with local professional and community-based women's groups to create transformational change

Women United will raise $2.5 million over 5 years in the Alberta Capital Region.  This investment will provide extensive supports to 150 indigenous girls in addition to supporting another 250 at-risk girls who are living in poverty, many from immigrant and refugee families, and their families so that they have the supports they need in their junior high and high school years through to high school competition.

Network with strong, like-minded women leaders through hands-on volunteer and engagement opportunities.

Women United will leverage their professional networks and help to expose 400 girls to different career paths. The invested dollars will be used to support the following:

· All in for Youth wrap around service structure that is designed to support all 400 girls and their families

· Build cultural awareness and pride in young girls through indigenous girls’ camp and cultural programming

· Focus on exposing girls to different career paths and post-secondary education options

With one of the youngest and largest indigenous populations in our country, Edmonton’s Aboriginal youth are an integral part of the future labour force. By connecting them with established community supports and building their capacity, not only does this give them hope and opportunity – it builds a stronger community for all.

Women United is an affinity group that brings together like-minded women who want to use their skills and talents to contribute to their community in a significant way. It is a network of over 70,000 female leaders worldwide who are passionate about making change happen through the empowerment of women and girls, to create future generations of leaders.
