Every day, across our community, small moments change everything.
A student gets the support they need to stay in school. A parent finds help during a mental health crisis. Someone takes a step toward financial stability and feels hope for the first time in a long time.
Each of these moments begins with someone reaching out. And because of this community, support is there when it matters most.
For 85 years, people across our region have come together with a shared belief: when we support one another, we all move forward. In 1941, local leaders made the choice to come together to meet the needs of a growing community. While much has changed since then, that belief remains at the heart of this work.
Over the past year, we’ve seen both the challenges facing our community and the strength of the response. Behind every number in this report is a person whose life has shifted and a community that chose to show up.
What makes this work possible isn’t just programs. It’s connection. The spaces where people feel seen. The trust that allows someone to ask for help. The shared commitment to building a stronger, more compassionate community together.
As we mark this 85th year, we honour the past and look ahead with purpose. Because the moments we create together today will shape our community for years to come.

The 50 Years United Club recognizes companies that have partnered with United Way for over 50 years. We are so grateful for our long-standing partners that continue to come together to make meaningful change in our community. Sponsored Campaign Representatives are seconded to United Way to support more than 400 charitable giving campaigns across the region. During this 17-week term, Campaign Representatives brainstorm solutions, provide advice, facilitate services and resources, and deliver training to thousands of volunteers. Building Financial Futures is United Way of the Alberta Capital Region’s local home for Resilient Futures: Building Financial Well-Being for All Canadians, a national initiative led by Prosper Canada and funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Social Development and Partnerships Program.

Financial Reality Check Champions are organizational leaders who help make this program possible by securing sponsorship support and engaging volunteers and financial coaches from their companies. Together, they helped provide Financial Reality Check events to local students, supported by 168 unique volunteers this year.
FRC Champions
Impact Speakers share their personal stories or represent partner agencies at United Way events, inspiring others to give and get involved. By amplifying lived experiences, they highlight the real impact of community support and motivate lasting change.
Women United Ambassadors champion the work of Women United by opening doors to new partnerships, expanding awareness, and engaging their networks. Their efforts help strengthen community connections, support education, and advance equity.
